Bowling Creep

Matt and I are in a bowling league that started a few weeks ago. The kids always come with us and play with the other kids while we're bowling. There is a little arcade/game area that usually keeps them busy. Many of the same people who bowled in our league last year are also bowling again this year. However, there is a new really creepy guy on another team. Now I don't like to go around accusing people of being a perv, but I knew as soon as I saw him that he is one.
Naturally I'm keeping an eye on him the entire time because he keeps watching Junie and trying to talk to Junie. At one point Junie got up to go to the game area, and he immediately decided that he needed to go get a drink. Not to worry though, because I quickly went and brought Junie back. The whole night I was watching him and thinking that maybe I should quit so that I can stay home with the kids and won't have to worry about the perv-guy. I told the kids that they shouldn't talk to him and that if he tries to talk to them they should scream and run.
All of this happened on the first night, and Matt actually hurt his elbow that night so he has had to take several weeks off. Thus, he is staying home with the kids. At this point I don't know what I'm going to do. This last Saturday I watched a show on MSNBC about child predators, and it said that most offenders are not on the 'list.' This got me even more worried and I started imagining perv-guy trying to talk to Junie and me having to run up and do a flying Matrix kick in his face. I thought that I had better practice my flying Matrix kick so I'll be ready...

Well it turns out that I actually can't do a flying Matrix kick so now I have to come up with a plan B. I asked Matt to beat this guy up but he's pretty sure that that is illegal. Especially since the perv-guy hasn't done anything.
I'm thinking either we should get a sitter, or one of us should quit. Matt thinks I'm overreacting but if you saw this guy you would think the same thing.

Worst Blogger Ever!

Ok, I'm probably not the worst blogger ever, but I do seem to have problems updating regularly! I haven't even been making anything for Illustration Friday. But I've been so busy lately and I just realized that the kids will be home this Thursday and Friday so I'm rushing to get stuff done now.
We took the kids to see '9' on opening night a few weeks ago. Definitely recommend it! Matt wants to go see Where the Wild Things Are when it comes out, but I can't say I'm much looking forward to it. Looks kind of boring to me. The Vampire's Assistant does look pretty good though and it comes out on the 23rd of October!
We're working on Halloween costumes. Junie and Josh both want to be their Wizard 101 characters. Jalen is going to be a ghost and I'm not sure about Hayden. He keeps changing his mind. I have to say that Halloween is my favorite holiday and I'm very much looking forward to next month!!

Illustration Friday - Strong

The topic for IF this week is Strong. My interpretation is a strong wind! I drew this with charcoal pencil, then painted it with watercolor. I'm not sure if I'm going to sell this original as I rather like it, but prints are available here.

Random Things

1. Since I was sick for several days last week I had spent most of Labor day weekend catching up on laundry. I think I did about 20 loads and I'm still not caught up. Of course part of that is because our washing machine is having problems so I can only wash medium loads. Plus the kids use a billion towels when they take a bath and they won't use a towel more then once.

2. You know what I hate? Sunlight. The curtains in our bedroom are kind of an off white so bright sunlight wakes me up most mornings. Today I went out and bought some dark red curtains so my room is more like a cave now... so take that sunshine!

3. I haven't mowed the lawn since the trowel incident. Fortunately we have a back up mower. I'm going to mow the lawn tomorrow and hope I don't run over anything.

4. The girls decided that they don't want to be in karate anymore. Both of them want to go back to gymnastics. This means that I get to wake up at the crack of dawn on Saturdays so I can take them to classes. On the plus side though I have something I can dangle in front of Junie... she can only be in gymnastics if she doesn't get written up at school.

5. I went ahead and added color to this drawing. I really like the way it turned out and I'm going to be doing a lot more with color in the months ahead.

Illustration Friday - Magnify

Can't believe I'm posting this so late! Like most of my previous Illustration Friday drawings this was drawn with charcoal on rag paper. I'm actually working on coloring this one with watercolor and pastel. I went ahead and added prints of this black and white version to my shop though. I thought it might be nice to offer some prints that won't be limited edition at a lower price.

And the Winner Is...

The drawing for my giveaway was yesterday. I meant to post this then, but I'm still feeling under the weather..even after nine hours of sleep. It's really rare for me to get sick as I take several vitamins every day and I exercise and I have very little contact with other humans. Even when I do get sick, it only lasts a day or two. I'm off topic though..back to the giveaway. I assigned everyone who entered the giveaway with a random number, or numbers if s/he became a fan on my Facebook page.

This is my super scientific chart.. with numbers and words and everything!

I then went to Random.org to pick the winner:

And the winner is Gmar10! Congrats Gmar10!!

For those of you who didn't win, don't feel bad. I've never won anything. Well, except our bowling team won last year but that was only because of Matt.

I'll announce the next giveaway sometime in the next few days:o)
