Am I That Old?

We have two computers in our house, and they are both on an L-shaped desk. A few weeks ago I was working at my computer, and Junie was playing a game on Matt's computer right next to me. Junie was playing a game called "Toon Town" which is one of her favorite games. In the midst of her playing she turned to me and said this:
Junie: Mommy, did you used to play this game when you were a kid?

Me: (thinking what a cute question) no, that game didn't exist when I was a kid.

Junie: What games did you play on the computer?

Me: We didn't have one, so I didn't play any games on the computer

Junie: Why didn't you have a computer?

Me: We didn't need one. Most people didn't have computers when I was a kid.

Junie: (her exact words) You mean you lived way back then away when people didn't have computers?

Me: Some people had computers, but most people didn't need them. The Internet didn't exist yet.

Junie: Does that mean that you're really old and you're going to die pretty soon?

Illustration Friday - Worn

This week's Illustration Friday topic is 'Worn.' I drew this really old 'worn' out olive tree on top of a cliff. I really felt like it needed a little bit more so I drew a little girl just below on the side of the cliff. This was drawn with charcoal on cotton rag paper.

Cleaning and Doctors

I took Junie to the doctor today because she's been yanking on her right ear. Also, according to my mom, she is breathing too heavily. Her Dr said that she's fine though. He suggested that she may have allergies so I should give her Benadryl. If that doesn't work, I'm supposed to give her Claritin for kids.
I also took Junie to Hobby Lobby today, and she got made because I wouldn't buy her any of those decorative rubber grapes. Sooo, she complained the entire time and now she's spending the afternoon in bed. Way to go Junie!
I spent the last two days cleaning the girls room. Twice a year I go through their closets, toy boxes, and under their bed and give it a good cleaning. I also switched out all their clothes from Winter to Summer. I threw away four yard bags full of toys and clothes this time. I also got rid of a set of plastic drawers.
I've still been really busy with a lot of custom orders, so I haven't had a chance to do much for my Etsy shops. Now that the kids are home from school I do all my drawing and painting when Matt gets home. During the day I clean and make sure that the kids aren't jumping out of the upstairs window - yes, they have done that before :o/
As far as my blog is concerned, I think that I might start posting more photos. Especially since the weather is so nice outside now :o)

Life without a Camera and Hansel and Gretel

I sent my camera off to Canon to be repaired two weeks ago. It really, really sucks not having a camera. I had wanted to start posting more pictures on my blog since it's (almost) Summer, but alas, I cannot. I also have a bunch of Art that I want to post, but I can't do that either. All I have is an old scanner with scratches all over the bed. I used the scanner to scan this drawing, and I had to spend over an hour 'removing' the scratch marks in Photoshop. This is the first in storybook series that I have been thinking about for a few months now. It's Hansel and Gretel and I made it with graphite and watercolor on Bristol board. I'm making 8x10 prints for my Etsy shop, and it can be bought here.
